Kabuki: I love Instagram because it’s visual. What are some of your favorite platforms when it comes to sharing your work or looking for inspiration? Kabuki: It’s also important to communicate visually when you’re working in a visual medium because there are different interpretations or assumptions of what things could be. If you’re doing a consultation for someone long distance where you aren’t able to do a makeup rehearsal or when you want to send a look to a designer for a show, you can easily create the look through Perfect365. Leila Aziz: Especially if you’ve been wanting to try out a new look. You can easily try out a new look at your convenience. You also use the app anytime: when your traveling or laying in bed. Kabuki: The thing is you don’t have to spend the time to try out a new look. Without having to commit and actually putting the makeup on, you can experiment and step out of your comfort zone and experiment more. Leila Aziz: It allows for a lot more experimentation. What are some of your favorite features of the Perfect365 App? For example, the three looks that I created for the app (Cameo, Modern Classic, and Dark Angel) can be tried instantaneously. But the great thing about the app is that you don’t actually have to do the makeup to get the confidence to try something new. So it’s really about an individual wanting to highlight what they think is their best feature. If you have a favorite feature, you can define it further by doing a matte lip or a smokey eye. Bu then there are also more exciting things like when you make a feature very dramatic. It transforms you and makes you feel like a celebrity and it works on everybody.
That’s a really modern way of using makeup.
Perfect365 app skin#
Kabuki: There’s the “natural” look where you have dimensional skin and really nicely defined features, but it still looks natural. What are some of your favorite trends in the makeup industry at the moment? Leila Aziz: It was a natural connection because NARS is very artistic and innovative and the app really facilitates creativity for an artist. So it’s great to have a photo of her and be able to create looks. When I work with Padma Lakshmi for example, she’s so involved in the makeup, she could care less about what I do with her hair. I’ve worked with NARS in the past and I love using the Perfect365 App. Kabuki: Well we’re all old friends really. How did the collaboration among Perfect365, NARS, and Kabuki come to be?
